Practically all M.Sc-graduates from HSE are employed upon or soon after graduation. They find their positions in the private sector, get a fair salary and find employment in the Helsinki region while some 5 percent move abroad for work.
In 2007, out of 391 M.Sc-graduates 305 (78 %) responded to HSE/Sefe exit survey.
Employment Statistics
Totally 83 % of graduates were employed upon graduation. Immediately after graduation the employment rate increases rapidly and in April 2008 only 3 % of 2007 graduates reported unemployment.
First employment is commonly found at private sector, 81 % of graduates, while public sector employs 11 % of M.Sc-graduates from HSE.
Education and employment compatibility was considered to be excellent or good by 87 % of the responders. More than half of graduates, 56 %, found placement as an expert/professional. Middle management level employed 11 % of the M.Sc-graduates while 19 % had a job as salaried employee. Upper management level employed 6 % and others 8 % of the graduates.
M.Sc- placements in different industries are as follows: accounting 39 %, general administration 17 %, marketing (incl. sales) 15 %, logistics 6 %, IT 4%, teaching and research 4 %, HR 3 %, service sector 3 %, secretarial and assisting duties 1 %.
Monthly starting salary for graduates in Euros (gross) was 3 091 €/kk.
