Practically all M.Sc-graduates from School of Economics are employed upon or soon after graduation. They find their positions in the private sector, get a fair salary and find employment in the Helsinki region while some 4 percent move abroad for work.
In 2009, 195 M.Sc-graduates (94 % from all School of Economics graduates) responded to School of Economics/SEFE exit survey.
2009 Graduate Employment Statistics
Totally 77 % of graduates were employed upon graduation. First employment is commonly found at private sector, 81 % of graduates, while public sector employs 7 % of M.Sc-graduates from School of Economics
Education and employment compatibility was considered to be excellent or good by 84 % of the responders. A bit over half of graduates, 51 %, found placement as an expert/professional. Middle management level employed 9 % of the M.Sc-graduates while 22 % had a job as salaried employee. Upper management level employed 9 %.
M.Sc- placements in different industries are as follows: accounting 32 %, general administration 18 %, marketing (incl. sales) 15 %, IT 6 %, teaching and research 6 %, logistics 2 %, HR 2 %, service sector 2 %, secretarial and assisting duties 0 %.
Monthly starting salary for graduates in Euros (gross) was 3 161 € (average).
