Application Procedure for Incoming Exchange Students
1. Nomination by Your Home University
You have to be accepted to the exchange program by your home university in order to be accepted as an exchange student to the Aalto University School of Economics, Mikkeli Campus (BScBA degree program).
For the fall and spring semesters, Mikkeli Campus accepts only the exchange students from the partner universities.
For the summer term, Mikkeli Campus also accepts exchange students from other universities. For more information, check the following website: http://www.hse.fi/EN/mikkeli/summerterm/
Please contact the local coordinator at your home university for further information.
2. Application Process
After the nomination by your home university coordinator, we will send you the application materials by e-mail. The materials include:
- Exchange Student Application Form
- Preliminary Registration for Courses
- Application for Accommodation
When returning these forms by e-mail to us, you need to attach the following:
· Two essays on the topics indicated in the application form.
· The certificate of your English proficiency or TOEFL test score report.
NOTE!
Because English is the language of instruction, it is essential that all participants are prepared to understand rapid, idiomatic English as spoken in lectures and group discussions. Students also are expected to be able to read English with ease and to express their thoughts clearly in spoken and written English. We request that exchange students, whose native language is other than English, provide official certificate of English proficiency OR take the TOEFL test.
Please keep in mind the following deadlines for application documents:
- June 1 for the fall semester
- October 1 for the spring semester
- March 31 for the summer semester
3. After Being Accepted by the Aalto University School of Economics, Mikkeli Campus (BScBA Degree Program)
We will send you the following materials by regular mail:
- An acceptance letter
- An arrival information sheet
- Bus & train timetables
- The Visiting Student Guide
- Brochures about Mikkeli and Finland
We will request the arrival information sheet from you at least one month prior to your arrival.
