Doctoral Program
International Business Communication

Doctoral studies take the form of main subject studies in International Business Communication for the degrees of DSc (Econ) and PhD. Studies can be full time, part time, or modularized. If done full time, studies can be completed in 4 years.
Entry Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communication, Linguistics, International Business or a related subject
- demonstrated research ability (a high level Master’s thesis, research papers or other publications, conference presentations)
- excellent ability to operate in the English language
Structure of the Program
I Business and Economics, with related research methodology (30 credit points)
These are mandatory courses for all HSE doctoral students. They are designed to give a thorough understanding of business and economics, as well as an ability to use sophisticated quantitative and qualitative methodology in a business / economic context. The courses can be spaced out over the whole of the study period.
II International Business Communication (30 credit points)
The exact nature of these studies depends on the individual student’s profile and background. They are designed to guarantee a sound knowledge of relevant research methodology, as well as insight into business communication and intercultural issues.
III Doctoral thesis (180 credit points)
An original piece of research focusing on some aspect of international business communication. The thesis must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the chosen subject area, ability to use sophisticated research methods, and exemplary writing skills.
