International Students

Welcome to the Aalto University School of Economics

The Aalto University School of Economics is the leading business school in Finland. It is a selective university that strives to uphold academic excellence. For almost 100 years, the School has been offering business focussed education and it excels in this field.

Teachers are actively engaged in research and that is reflected in the day-to-day education provided.  Currently there are about 4,000 students studying with 600 new students each year. The School is also increasingly international at home with about 40% of all domestic students participating in exchanges abroad for at least one semester.

The University consists of five departments offering BSc, MSc and Doctoral degrees. Each department provides a range of subject-specific programmes with at least one degree program in English.

The School has two campuses: Helsinki and Mikkeli. The Helsinki campus, the main campus where most students are located, is located in the city center (pop. ~580,000) close to shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Because of its location, students have access to the amenities of a large, cosmopolitan city but with the ability to safely walk to any downtown destination you might have.

It is important to note that as of January 1, 2010, HSE merged with two other top universities (Helsinki University of Technology and University of Art and Design Helsinki) in the Helsinki area to form Aalto University. We became
Aalto University School of Economics
